Tony Rogers Conference & Event Services offers a range of consultancy, information and research services to companies and organisations operating in the convention, conference and business events sector.

 

Tony Rogers is a recognised authority on the UK conference and conventions market, with expertise and knowledge built up over a period of more than 25 years.

For almost 20 years Tony was Chief Executive of the British Association of Conference Destinations (1989-2008) and then Project Director for Eventia (2008-2009). He was also the Executive Director of the Association of British Professional Conference Organisers (ABPCO) between 2000-2008. He established his own consultancy in September 2009.

He is the author of several books including ‘Conferences and Conventions: A Global Industry’ (third edition published in 2013) and ‘Marketing Destinations and Venues for Conferences, Conventions and Business Events’, the latter co-authored with Rob Davidson of MICE Knowledge (and formerly of the University of Greenwich) (second edition published in 2015). Both books have been translated into Chinese and the former has also been translated into Portuguese.

Tony is actively involved with the Business Visits and Events Partnership (BVEP), the umbrella body for the business events sector in the UK. His work for BVEP includes compilation of the 'Britain for Events' report (published October 2010), with a new report entitled 'Events Are GREAT Britain' written by Tony and published March 2014. He has also undertaken a research study on 'Global Best Practice in Subvention and Bid Support' (in conjunction with Sally Greenhill of The Right Solution) published October 2011.

In 2011 he was honoured to be included in the MIA List, which recognises 25 individuals who have made ‘an outstanding contribution to our very special industry’.

He is an Honorary Member of the Association of British Professional Conference Organisers, a Visiting Fellow at Leeds Beckett University’s UK Centre for Events Management, and a member of BVEP's Research Group.
